Ash looks like any other typical,  high school senior about to graduate-relaxed, happy and excited to be moving on to his next chapter, college life. But like many P4K students, Ash is anything but typical.

Just six years ago, he and his family were immigrating to the United States from a Nepal.  Ash was a young teen,  who did not speak any English and had lived his entire life in a refugee camp.  Despite the extreme culture shock, Ash set his goals high and worked really hard to achieve his dreams of being the first one in his family to attend college.

Today, all that hard work is paying off.  Ash has been awarded the Gates Millenium Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship that more than 57,000 other students applied was awarded to  only 1,000 applicants.

Here Ash’s story in his own words by clicking HERE.
