IK Igbinigie completed four years of programming with Partnership 4 Kids before receiving P4K’s All Our Kids scholarship to attend UNO. He initially enrolled in P4K because he wanted assistance with college preparation and heard positive things about the program from his peers. He also wanted some additional help and mentoring as he set career and college goals. Since enrolling in Partnership 4 Kids IK has achieved great success. He graduated from North High School with a 4.3 GPA, and is currently a junior maintaining a 3.7 in his Biology major at UNO.
IK says that the mentors from P4K have helped to keep him on track and provided critical support and advice as he explores his career options. “Partnership 4 Kids has helped me strive for a higher standard for myself,” he adds.
One of IK’s high school mentors still maintains contact with him and has been a source of ongoing encouragement in his long term goals. He plans on attending medical school at UNMC and continues to strive for excellence in his academic endeavors and personal life. He has volunteered the past few summers at UNMC as a research lab assistant and hopes to work as a Physician in a family practice one day. P4K is extremely proud of all that IK has achieved!
